How to Contribute to the People's History

WRITE/VIDEO YOUR STORY
Post Your Story, Account and Reflections of your participation and experience in the Seattle resistance to the WTO or in the dozens of solidarity demonstration around the world. Consider adding your reflections from today—how did it effect you, your group(s) and the world? Perhaps you wrote an account at the time you could use, edit or update. Don't worry if you make mistakes - you'll be able to log in and edit anything you contribute to this site.

You could also consider recording your self-telling your story on video, You Tube style. Please practice a few times and keep it under ten minutes. See uploading guidelines below.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
LENGTH: Recommended length: 500 to 3,000 words.
Possible Questions:
- What were your most intense or memorable experiences?
- Why did you go to Seattle/participate in the resistance?
- How did it affect you, your groups,. community, movement, the world..…
- YOUR REFLECTION on how the Seattle WTO resistance affected your life, group, movement, community and/or world.
YOUR GROUP OR COMMUNITY HISTORY
Write up the history of your affinity group, union, organization,
community, or school’s participation.
This could also include:
- Photos
- Flyers, posters, documents
- Reports, accounts, reflections, diaries, emails
- Photos
- Videos
- Interviews of participants
- Newsletter or newspaper clippings
Images can be uploaded directly in the posting form in the section labeled "Image(s)". Other kinds of files (audio, video, documents) should be uploaded in the section labeld "File Attachements".
In addition to posting key parts of your group's involvement on this site, we encourage you
to create events, visual presentations, scrapbooks, archives etc. to
show it to your group, community and the world TO DOCUMENT YOUR OWN HISTORY FOR THE FUTURE!

POST YOUR PHOTOS OR VIDEO
If you have strong, clear, compelling images and video, please post it.
PHOTO RECOMMENDATIONS:
- We suggest posting 15 or less photos and choosing those that are unusual, strong, clear and interesting.
- Please include captions.
- To upload your photos just use the "Image(s)" section on the posting form. Once you upload one image, you'll be presented with the option to upload another file, and so on. Make sure to press the "Submit" button after you upload all your pictures so they get saved with your contribution.
VIDEO RECOMMENDATIONS
We suggest posting 10 minutes or less of video. If it is longer please consider editing it down. Please title it in a way that describes what it is. To upload your video, just click on the "File Attachments" section in the posting form, and you'll be able to upload your file. Please make sure to post compressed, web ready video in a format like mpeg4 or quicktime.
GET IT OUT IN YOUR COMMUNITY, NETWORKS AND THE WORLD
Once you have posted it on the Real BattleinSeattle.org site tell your friends, family, groups, community and the world about it. It's up to us to keep this history alive and to tell it ourselves. Here are some suggestions:
- Send an email announcement with a link to your posting on the People’s History Site to your friends and networks.
- Printout a copy and give to your friends, community and group. Design it so it's easy to read and maybe add some images.
- Announce your story and the site to your organizations and or your communities’ newsletter, website, etc.
